IDEAL Summer Institute

Annual IDEAL Summer Institute

Each August, the IDEAL Consortium hosts a multi-day institute for representatives from member states. Participants have an opportunity to share information and learn from one another, see presentations about each member states' work, and discuss innovative instructional strategies, important policy considerations, and administrative practices. The goal of Institute activities is to help members plan for the upcoming distance and digital education programming in their states.

Who should attend?

To retain the meeting feel of past IDEAL Institutes, and due to space limitations, each state will have spots for 2 people to attend in person. Up to 4 additional people can attend online, and they will be fully integrated into the meeting and hosted by our online facilitators.

IDEAL Awards for 2025

We are pleased to honor Jamie Adelson-Goldstein, recipient of the 2025 IDEAL Impact Award for her coaching leadership in the DRAW initiative.

Jayme is a nationally recognized leader in professional development and author of The Oxford Picture Dictionary and Step Forward. Over her 40+ years as a teacher educator, she has advanced learner-centered instruction through professional learning, curriculum support, and instructional coaching for programs, colleges, and agencies across the U.S. Jayme’s innovative strategies have helped instructors adapt proven in-person methods to remote teaching, demonstrating her ability to bridge practice across contexts. Her role as a coach in the DRAW initiative further highlights her warmth, generosity, and commitment to quality digital literacy learning for adults. Her dedication to sharing knowledge, embracing new technologies, and fostering educator and learner agency makes her an invaluable leader in the field.
