Handbook of Distance Education (2008)
(A new version is forthcoming Summer 2016, published under the title Handbook of Distance Education and Blended Learning for Adult Learners)
The 2008 Handbook addresses methods for recruiting, orienting, assessing and teaching ABE and ESOL students at a distance. Comprised of lessons learned from member states, the Handbook also includes information on topics for administrative and support staff. (Note: IDEAL member states joining at the Basic level have access to the updated Handbook, which includes new topics such as blended and mobile learning. Learn how your state can become a member.)
This series is comprised of research and policy papers on a variety of topics of interest to distance educators, administrators, and state and federal policy makers.
These reports reflect the results of research done with consortium members to address both state-specific and more global questions related to distance education.
